Mentor

Job Description:

Looking for part time work where you can make a difference in the lives of area youth? Lily's Place is hiring paid mentors! It will require a commitment of up to 12 hours a week, evenings and weekends depending on the schedule.

Mentors provide kids with guidance, advice, feedback, and support serving variously as advisor, advocate, and ally, depending on the specific goals and objectives. Mentors will inspire, teach and guide. A mentor is there to listen, encourage, and nudge youth toward the best path.

Duties (including, but not limited to):

• Providing support and guidance to the youth, including helping them develop social skills.

• Meeting with students regularly to discuss their progress, offer advice, and build relationships.

• Communicating with parents/guardians about their child’s progress.

• Encouraging positive behavior through praise and recognition when appropriate.

• Maintaining regular contact with other adults in the child’s life, such as teachers and social workers.

• Coordinating extracurricular activities such as sports teams, clubs, and volunteer activities.

• Helping youth develop social skills such as conflict resolution, teamwork, and empathy.

• Providing academic support such as tutoring or helping students with homework.

• Providing guidance on personal issues such as family problems or bullying at school.

• Provide documentation updating on the progress of the mentor/mentee relationship.

 

Must be at least 21 years old, have reliable transportation and pass a background check.

Therapist

Job Description:

Full-time or Part-time. This position will encompass the responsibilities of therapy. The person will provide therapy to the families of the babies we serve and to the community in our Family Center. The Family Center is a licensed behavioral health center serving individuals in Huntington, WV and the surrounding areas.


Duties (including, but not limited to):

-Deliver direct patient services

-Perform Intakes

-Maintain records

-Discharge planning

-Coordinate, oversee and facilitate groups

-Ensure individualized care

-Develop specialized treatment plan on individual basis

-Referral to other programs as needed

-Help create an aftercare plan

-Conduct individual, couples and family counseling sessions as needed

-Provide crisis intervention as needed


Education Requirements:

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Practical Counselor (LPC) or higher


Preferred experience:

Substance Use Disorders

Trauma Informed Care

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy


Random drug testing required.

Background checks required.​
